Photos from the Mommy & Me Premiere

Last week, I was invited by director Jennifer James and producer Susie Olsen to attend the premiere of their new film, \”Mommy & Me\” which was shown at a private screening last night. The event was held at the Raleigh Studios, with the screening at the Chaplin Theater. The had a red carpet arrival and reception prior to the showing, with some munchies served after the film was shown. If you enjoy romantic comedies, and have a fetish that is different than most, you will likely enjoy this film. I hope you enjoy the photos.

More of the same – Project365

I think this global warming thing is being debunked. This seems like it has been the coldest and wettest fall and winter than I can remember. Well, except for the El Nino we had back in the early 90\’s. Guess I should be thankful it isn\’t raining that much. Buddy would have drowned by now. Day 49 of Project365 is a photo of Buddy and I as we finish up our morning walk.

Another gloomy day

Day 48 of Project365 started way too early. Combine that with a cold and dreary morning and it makes for a very long day. Since I do try to find a positive side, I was slammed with work as soon as I arose, so by the time I was able to take Buddy for his walk the sun did have some height to it. Unfortunately, it also had a very large cloud covering it.

Hard to find shadows

I am sure glad this is a short month. Trying to use a shadow theme without much sunlight is making this a difficult task. I have had to resort to timing my morning walks for when there is a cloud break coming up. Sometimes, I do not even have time to get the camera out before the clouds eliminate whatever shadow I threw. My photo of the day for day 47 of Project365 was taken during a brief glimpse of sunlight.

Valentine\’s Day 2011

Sunday was Valentine\’s Day, and the first one that I have had the pleasure of spending with my girlfriend. I guess after almost four years it is only fitting that we spend one together. My picture of the day for Valentine\’s Day, day 45 of Project365 is of Tanya and I as we stopped along CA Highway 41, just outside of Fresno, CA.

A wooded view

Saturday started with a walk through Mariposa, CA with my faithful companion, Buddy. Mariposa Creek provides for a nice view due to the nature that surrounds it. This includes not only the foliage, but there were lots of cool birds to check out as well. My photo of the day for day 44 of Project365 is of me as I paused on a bridge to enjoy the view of the creek.

Photos from Horsetail Falls at Yosemite

Since we had pretty good luck on Saturday, we decided to return to Horsetail Falls on Sunday. We got there about 3.5 hours early and picked our spot. Everything looked great until the sun started going down. There was a huge cloud bank which threatened to block the sun\’s rays from hitting the falls, a very important ingredient to the equation. To be honest, I was ready to pack it in along with many others. Luckily, Tanya wanted to stick it out. At the last minute the sun broke through and we got our shots.

Photos from Yosemite and Horsetail Falls

Although we have been a couple for almost four years now, this is the first Valentine\’s Day that we will spend together. I decided that it would be nice if we celebrated it by going to see something that relatively few people have seen. For a few weeks of February, Horsetail Falls, in Yosemite National Park, puts on a show that is only visible for 10 or 15 minutes a day. We spoke with people that have tried to photograph it unsuccessfully for years. We got it on our first try.
