Photos from Wasa Sushi, Newport Beach

A couple of friends of mine read this blog, and follow me on Facebook (see sidebar –>), and as a result have seen many photos from my visits to Gu Gu Sushi. A couple of weeks ago, we decided that we would have a sushi exchange program. I would visit their favorite sushi establishment and then we would all go to Gu Gu and see who had the best sushi. Last Saturday, I joined them at Wasa On the Bluffs, in Newport Beach, CA. It was a fun ride there and back, and the sushi was good. They are more …

Super Bowl Sunday

Today presented a bit of a challenge in taking my picture for Project365. It was wet and foggy when we started our morning walk, so it made sticking to the theme of this month a little tougher. Fortunately, by the time we reached the 3/4 mark, the sun started breaking through. My picture of the day for day 37 is of me walking through the park on a foggy morning.

Winter Green

Was a nice morning. Sunny and brisk out. I normally would have gone out for a bike ride, but Tanya had things to do and she is coming out tomorrow, so I decided to stick around. Took a nice long walk this morning, did a little laundry, then took a ride out to Newport Beach to try a new sushi place with some friends. The company was great, the food was good. That is the problem, I judge all sushi against Gu Gu, and anyone that has been there knows that is not fair. All in all, a good lazy …

Project365 a daily routine

It is nice to be able to get into a routine, once in a while. Too often, there are a dozen things to do, so this blog has to take a back seat. Even if I have time to work on the blog, I may not have time to update my picture of the day. Four days in a row, with few interruptions is nice for a change of pace. Day 35 of my Project365 is of Buddy and I on our morning walk. Shadows mean sunshine, and that is a good thing.

Colder than I thought

Yesterday, Buddy and I wanted to show our solidarity with friends and family that are being hit hard with the winter storms. To achieve this, I put together a little \”snow scene\” as we would imagine it to be like in Indiana or Wisconsin. I have to admit, I was a little surprised to see that our snow still had not melted by this morning. Granted, it had not grown in size, and schools were not being closed as a result, but for Southern California, it was pretty cold. My photo of the day for day 34 of Project365 is …

Another Groundhog Day

Believe it or not, February 2, Groundhog Day, has long been one of my favorite holidays. Okay, maybe there are no greeting cards, but maybe that is what makes it so special. I don\’t know if you were able to see your shadow today or not, but I could see mine. Day 33 of Project 365 is proof that shadows were viewable. Not sure how that effects the seasons though.

A new month and a new theme for Project365

At the end of last year, I decided that I wanted to mix it up a little on this Project365 photo a day deal. Last month, I actually made sure that my face was pictured in every photo. In the more than 13 months that I have been doing this, I have never had a month that every photo had my face in it. So, now it is February. I intend on making sure my image is in every photo, but with a twist. My picture of the day for day 32 of Project365 is of Buddy and I on …

My first days of 2011 – Project365 photos

This has been an interesting year, thus far. I have been able to take a few nice motorcycle rides, spent some time with my honey, went to Las Vegas for close to a week and walked Buddy, a lot. Unfortunately, there were also a couple of technical issues that kept me from doing daily Project365 updates to GotBaddog, but I think I have gotten everything under control. I may not be religious about doing the updates, but at least I remember to take the photos. So, here is January 2011, Project365.

A Gu Gu Sushi Milestone

It is no secret that my favorite place to get sushi is at Gu Gu Sushi & Roll in Hermosa Beach. I have been dining there for almost two years, and have yet to leave disappointed. In fact, one of the things I enjoy the most about Gu Gu, is that it really does not matter what I order, I know it is going to be good. Gu Gu has close to 200 various rolls and sashimi available. They have multiple menus and I decided I wanted to try every roll they offered, so I took one of their menus …

Barger Harley-Davidson Chili Cook Off Photos

Last Saturday, my buddy Phil and I took a ride out to Canoga Park to Barger Harley-Davidson for their open house and to check out the chili cook off. It was in the mid-80\’s so while it may not have made for ideal chili weather, it was a great day for a bike ride. The chili was pretty good. What surprised me was that I liked the vegetarian version best.
