Wednesday evening, The Beach Reporter crowned Ortega 120 in Redondo Beach as their October 2012, Restaurant of the Month. I discovered Ortega 120 in 2009 when I saw them on a local news station on Cinco de Mayo. What caught my interest was that the \”120\” in the name referred to the number of tequilas they served. I immediately knew that was where I had to spend that Cinco de Mayo. I was happy to discover that not only did they carry more tequilas than I will probably ever try, but they had really good food too. I think that …

At the end of 2011 I decided that I would try to devote as much time as possible to promoting fund raising events for local non-profits. It was then that I learned of and met the Lady of Magic, Sisuepahn Phila. She was having a New Years Eve party benefiting the Midnight Mission, a homeless shelter in downtown Los Angeles. Sophie\’s Place is a great little gastropub in the Riviera Village and one of our personal favorite destinations in Redondo Beach. These photos are from our eighth Business & Beer event which was held last night at Sophie\’s Place in the Riviera Village portion of Redondo Beach. Sophie\’s Place is arguably the best gastropub in Redondo Beach. It seems hard to believe that we only became familiar with Sophie\’s in the middle of July. We always feel so welcome there that I sometimes feel like we have been long time patrons. Last night, I headed over to the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce Annual Regional Mixer at the Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach. Today we went to Ortega 120 in Redondo Beach for another Networking at Noon. I am sure it was pure coincidence that the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) scheduled two Networking at Noon events this month with the second one falling on National Tequila Day, and Ortega 120 boasting over 120 different kinds of tequila. The Business N Beer networking group had our first get-together last night at Select Beer Store in Redondo Beach, and I have to say, I was very happy with the turnout. Even though there were last minute cancellations by some, we still had 10 people show up.
